Copilot adds controls around JetBrains agents

GitHub Copilot for JetBrains now lets teams export agent-workflow traces through OpenTelemetry, set default input and output token limits for BYOK and custom endpoints, and use MCP servers and custom agents in Claude agent flows. Why it matters: Coding-agent configuration is becoming an operational surface: traces expose what happened, token ceilings bound a run, and configured tools determine the agent's available capabilities.

Try this: In a disposable project, set token ceilings and a controlled OpenTelemetry endpoint; then run one MCP-backed task and inspect or redact its trace before sharing the setup.
