Headroom

Headroom is an open-source project for compressing tool outputs, logs, files, and RAG chunks before they are sent to a language model, with library, proxy, and MCP-server integration paths. Why it matters: Verbose agent traces and tool outputs can waste context and budget; compression at the tooling layer is becoming part of reliable agent operations.

Try this: Run Headroom against one large agent log or retrieved-document batch and compare retained task signal against token reduction.
