Agent Memory Repo makes persistent context Git-native
Cognition released Agent Memory Repo as an MIT-licensed open spec for durable agent context. A short `MEMORY.md` indexes linked notes, queries, and scripts; agents clone the repo, search it, update entries, and commit changes across sessions. Why it matters: Git makes memory inspectable: teams can review provenance, diffs, ownership, permissions, and merge conflicts instead of trusting an opaque store. Separate personal or team repos can also be loaded together without collapsing their histories into one shared profile.
Try this: Create a local test memory repo with no remote, add one preference with a source and date, correct it in a second session, then inspect the Git diff and retrieval result before allowing automatic pushes.
